Presentation to Focus on Understanding State-of-the Art Attack Techniques
Boston, MA: October 30, 2003 – Core Security Technologies, provider of CORE IMPACT, the first-to-market penetration testing software product for assessing specific information security risks, today announced that Ivan Arce the company’s CTO, and Gerardo Richarte, CORE IMPACT Lead Exploit Developer will present “Attack and Penetration Techniques From the Attacker's Perspective” at the upcoming 2003 Pacsec Conference in Tokyo, Japan.
“Understanding the attacker’s perspective is critical when attempting to secure network information assets,” said Ivan Arce. “By explaining the benefits of penetration testing, we hope this presentation will help network administrators and security professionals to better assess the real risk to their most critical resources.”
The presentation will address advanced attack techniques and methodologies that explain how an attacker plans and executes attacks. Additionally, concepts such as identifying and attacking new targets (individual machines, whole organizations and various embedded systems), planning and optimizing the attack cycle and developing new attack methodologies and technologies will be explored.

Gera Richarte is widely regarded as one of the world’s most prominent exploit developers. Additionally, he is responsible for countless innovations in attack and penetration technique. Gerardo is the lead exploit developer for CORE IMPACT and has performed hundreds of penetration tests and software security audits with Core’s Security Consulting Services team.
