Core Discovers Vulnerabilities in Mirabilis ICQ client

SC InfoSecurity News

Core Security says that it has discovered a number of vulnerabilities in Mirabilis’ ICQ Pro 2003a client.

The IT security advisory service says that problems center around remote code execution and denial-of-service issues.

Because of the seriousness of the flaws, the service says it tried to contact Mirabilis by email several times during March and April.

In total, Core says that six security vulnerabilities were found with Mirabilis ICQ Pro 2003a that could lead to various forms of exploitation, ranging from denying users the ability to use ICQ services to execution of arbitrary commands on vulnerable systems.

Mirabilis was unavailable for comment as this story went to press.
