WiFi Penetration Testing Advancement: Offline Fake AP
March 4, 2011 - The “Fake Access Point” capabilities within CORE IMPACT Pro allowed the operator of IMPACT Pro to share their Internet connection with any client that connected to the Fake AP. Now, if the operator does not have an internet connection they can run the Fake Access Point module in offline mode. In this mode, the Fake Access Point module will also start a DNS Server, an HTTP Server, and a POP3 server. The DNS server will respond to any DNS query with a single IP address. The HTTP Server and POP3 server will listen on that IP address and try and harvest credentials from clients that connect to them.
