Core Security Joins Forces with Business, Government and Law Enforcement to Crack Down on Cybercrime across the European Union

International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ICSPA) will Help Law Enforcement Agencies Remove Borders in the Fight Against Online Attackers

London, U.K. - July 5, 2011 - Core Security Technologies has united with businesses, government and law enforcement agencies across 27 EU member states to form the International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ICSPA) and coordinate multi-national efforts in the fight against cyber crime. The not-for-profit organization is led by business leaders and will provide resources, information and training to help counteract borderless cyber criminals.

Core Security, the leader in enterprise security and test measurement, will share its expertise and resources with ICSPA member organizations to reduce security exposure and IT risk by initiating and replicating real threats. Other participating organizations include Cassidian Systems (an EADS company), McAfee Inc, Shop Direct Group, Transactis, Trend Micro, Visa Europe and Yodel.

John Lyons, chief executive of the ICSPA, said: “This unique initiative is probably our best chance of taking on cybercrime groups who feel they have free reign to do what they like on the Internet with little risk of being apprehended or disrupted. Today is just the beginning of a wider business-led response to bringing about a safer and more secure Internet experience for all of us. We very much appreciate the support from our founding member businesses and look forward to welcoming many more in the years ahead.”

The International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ICSPA) is a business-led, not-for-profit organization.
Its mission is to enhance the online safety and security of business communities, by helping to deliver resources and expertise from the private sector to support both domestic and international law enforcement agencies in their task of reducing harm from cyber crime. This will include raising public sector funding from governments and institutions that wish to help increase the capacity and capability of cyber crime units in countries which face the greatest challenges.
