New Enterprise Product, CORE INSIGHT

BOSTON - January 27, 2011 - Core Security Technologies, the market’s leading provider of IT security test and measurement software solutions, today reports another year of double-digit revenue growth in 2010, and that the company surpassed the 1,000-customer mark. In a year that witnessed numerous corporate and technology milestones, Core Security saw significant early adoption for its CORE INSIGHT Enterprise product, a breakthrough security test and measurement platform that provides continuous, automated testing to verify security control and demonstrate real exposures of critical IT assets.

“Core Security’s record growth and customer adoption, plus our record renewal rates, show how in 2010, above all else, we continued to meet the diverse and comprehensive needs of our customers while bringing to market a new solution, CORE INSIGHT Enterprise, that will help define IT security moving forward,” said Mark Hatton, president and CEO of Core Security. “Core Security has a proven track record of bringing innovative products to market, and we are well poised for an even stronger 2011.”

Product Innovation and Market-Leading Performance

Nine years after bringing the first comprehensive penetration testing tool to market, Core Security continues to serve as an industry innovator. In 2010, Core Security introduced a brand new solution for security test and measurement -- CORE INSIGHT Enterprise. The launch followed a successful beta program that included more than a dozen Fortune 500 firms and top-level U.S. government agencies.

In 2010, Core Security also introduced the latest version of its automated penetration testing solution, CORE IMPACT Pro version 11. IMPACT Pro v11 gives customers new ability to conduct real-world assessments on network devices, replicate wireless Man-in-the-Middle (MiTM) attacks and integrate with Web application scanners such as IBM Rational AppScan® and HP WebInspect®.

To further meet customer needs, Core Security launched an array of new services. CORE IMPACT Professional Services help customers with limited time and resources identify and prioritize their most critical IT exposures across a range of highly strategic assets. They also enable customers to validate and filter vulnerability scanner results and other security systems and event data to eliminate false positives and isolate their testing, streamlining and focusing the strength of Core’s penetration testing solutions.

New Leadership and Widespread Industry Recognition

In 2010, Core Security established a new advisory board to help drive the company’s future business strategy, vulnerability research and product development plans. Represented on the Core Advisory Board are three of IT security’s most influential thought-leaders, including Roland Cloutier from payment processing giant ADP, John Stewart from networking behemoth Cisco, and Melissa Hathaway, a former top cyber-security advisor to two U.S. presidents.

Core continues to expand its staff and global footprint. In 2010 the company opened a UK office to support expanding international demand. It also appointed Pablo Setuain as Vice President and GM of South American Operations. Prior to joining Core, Mr. Setuain spent several years at e-commerce giant Amazon and is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business.

Core Security was widely recognized for the work of its industry-leading CoreLabs™ research team, which published several high-profile vulnerability advisories in 2010. Two of the most noteworthy include vulnerabilities affecting large numbers of organizations using Cisco’s Secure Desktop security package and Microsoft's Virtual PC virtualization software.

The company was also recognized for its innovative technology and business success through multiple industry awards. Most recently, it was named to SC Magazine’s Innovators Hall of Fame for its consistent technical and business innovation. It was also named as a finalist in the publication’s highly coveted 2011 SC Magazine Awards.

“Core Security Technologies has led the way in the penetration testing market,” noted Peter Stephenson, technology editor of SC Magazine, in the publication’s December 2010 issue. “Core sees the penetration test market evolving into security testing and measurement. To help define that market, Core has continued to invest in innovation.”
